Visitors to Canada Health Insurance
Visitors to Canada health insurance provides emergency medical coverage for sickness and accident. Emergency means an unexpected sickness or an injury which requires medical attention. Although Canada has one of the worlds best health systems, it is expensive. Hospital costs can be over $3,000.00 daily.
Visitors to Canada health insurance provides medical coverage for persons not covered under a provincial health plan. This would include the following:
- Visitors to Canada;
- Immigrants to Canada;
- Foreign workers;
- International students;
- Returning Canadians waiting for provincial coverage.
Some visitors to Canada health insurance policies will cover pre-existing conditions which have been stable for a specified length of time, such as 120 or 180 days. Pre-existing conditions can be covered up to age 85. Persons over age 85 can get coverage for "new" illness and accident only.
We recommend a limit of at least $50,000.00 for visitors to Canada health insurance coverage. With hospital costs over $3,000.00 per day, limits of $100,000.00 or $150,000.00 would be ideal. Travel Under Writers Platinum visitors to Canada health insurance policy has limits of $300,000.00
