Travel Underwriters Quest Policy

Travel emergency medical policies have a stability clause that requires medical conditions to be stable for a specified period of time. This period could be 90, 180 or 365 days from the start of coverage. Stable means there has been no increase or decrease or change in medication, or deteriorating symptoms or new treatment.

This means if your medication changes or you have new treatment shortly before you are to travel, that condition will not be stable long enough to meet the policy stability requirement. Should you still decide to travel you will not be covered for that particular medical condition.

Travel Underwriters Quest Policy may be the solution to this problem. Conditions that meet stability requirements are covered up to a limit of $5,000,000.00 and you can purchase $150,000.00 of coverage for conditions that are not stable. Applicants are subject to eligibility questions. There are three overall rating classifications along with seven age groupings and seven trip length categories.
